Introduction

Tingyun APM is a next-generation application performance management (APM) platform that offers comprehensive monitoring and management services, including automated topology discovery, distributed tracing, performance diagnostics, as well as fault alerting and locating. Built on a newly designed Agent architecture, the system provides full-scale data collection capabilities.

Tingyun APM has the following features:

  • Next-Generation Agent Architecture: The newly designed Agent enables full-scale business and performance data collection with minimal impact on application performance, while significantly reducing resource consumption of JVM virtual machine. An integrated Agent management system allows for batch upgrades and deployments in real time.

  • Business System & Global Transaction Tracking: Introduces business system and global transaction definitions to better categorize, visualize, and monitor applications within business systems. This enhances end-to-end monitoring, visualization, and tracing, enabling users to efficiently organize and oversee business systems, rapidly detect performance issues, isolate faults, and reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).

  • Dynamic Baselines & Health Scoring: Users can select dynamic baselines tailored to different business cycles as benchmarks for health scoring. For monitored entities—including business systems, applications, instances, transactions, and components—customizable metrics and rules can be applied to calculate health scores, which are then presented in intuitive reports.

  • Visual Business Instrumentation: Integrates with business analytics and user experience platforms through visual instrumentation, enabling correlated analysis from business performance and user experience to application performance. This empowers IT teams to better align technical insights with business outcomes and user satisfaction.
